Thesis defense of Hippolyte DUPONT, PhD student in the Lasers group of the Laboratoire Charles Fabry, on 14 November 2024 at 2.30pm in the Auditorium of the Institut d'Optique Graduate School in Palaiseau, on the topic: "Solid-state lasers emitting at 2.3 µm based on thulium-doped crystals: Understanding spectroscopy to improve efficiency".

Abstracts: "This thesis focuses on the study of the 3H4 to 3H5 transition of thulium for emission around 2.3 µm in solid-state lasers, with potential applications for molecules detection. As the previous efficiencies and powers reported in the literature are relatively low, various pumping methods have been explored to improve the slope efficiency of these sources, based on an in-depth study of thulium spectroscopy, both from a theoretical and experimental point of view."
